You see it really is simple, and the results are outstanding. If you think you can improve it even more, you can use the back arrow to modify one of the features. The last screen is the “Summary” screen where you’ll get a before and after view of the photograph you’ve been working on that lets you to see what you’ve accomplished. You select which screen shot you want and move on to the next feature. You’ll then get two screen shots of the picture you’re working on, side by side, that will change to reflect your movement of the slider at each color enhancement feature screen. How do you get these amazing results? Well, after you launch oneOne Phototune you’ll select from “Image with People”, “Image without People”, and “Pro Mode”, depending on your preference. Scenario 3: A dark, murky looking picture can be improved by adjusting the “Fill Light”, “Recovery” and “Clarity” settings in the Pro Mode Tone panel. The various setting options in Pro Mode allow you to fine tune the details in a simple, direct interface. Scenario 2: A bright, blown up picture can be refined by using the onOne Phototune in Pro Mode. Scenario 1: A cool, dark photograph can be infused with warmth in onOne Phototune’s Wizard Mode, thanks to its straightforward user controls. I know… you’ve heard enough of onOne Phototunes usability what does it actually do? Let me give you three scenarios: ![]() Now, as to whether or not onOne Phototune is user friendly, I’ll say that when you launch the software in Wizard Mode, you find a simplistic interface with a slider that lets you choose between “less” and “more”. You can use it as a Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture plug-in or as standalone software. “That is fine” you say, “but is it user friendly and do I absolutely need Photoshop to use it?” The answer to the last question is no, you don’t need Photoshop. If you regularly take wedding photos or just general party pictures, you will love the skin tune feature that comes with onOne Phototune. It helps you put the finishing touches on those photographs that need color correction. Thats where photo enhancement software like onOne Phototune comes into play. Perhaps, next time around, you can give Photoshop a little help. Other times you settle for as good as it gets. Sometimes you feel you’ve achieved something really special.
